Madras Canteen
Privacy Policy
Madras Canteen ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our ordering channels, and how we handle it. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Details you give us when you send an enquiry or contact form, such as your name, email address, phone number, suburb or postcode, order details and any dietary notes you choose to share.
- Your email address, optional first name and the date you consented, if you sign up for our menu updates.
- Messages you send us through WhatsApp, SMS, Instagram or email.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange pickup or delivery.
- To send you our weekly menu and ordering updates, only if you have opted in.
- To keep basic records needed to run the business.
Website analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It does not use cookies and does not identify you personally. We also count how often the enquiry buttons are used (for example, WhatsApp). These counts contain no names, numbers or messages.
How we store and share it
Website enquiries and newsletter sign-ups are stored with our hosting and database providers, which may store data outside Australia. We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with service providers who help us run the website or deliver your order, or where the law requires it.
Marketing emails
We only send marketing emails if you have ticked the consent box. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.
Access and correction
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us through the details on our Contact Us page.
Complaints
If you are concerned about how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
